Barite for drilling fluids
Barite is used as a weighting material in oil and gas drilling fluids. Its density allows the fluid’s weight to be adjusted for drilling conditions.
Our barite ore
Our Moroccan barite ore has a minimum specific gravity of 4.20 and minimum BaSO₄ content of 88%. The product is supplied as white-grey lumps, with 90% in the 0–200 mm size range.
The ore specifications also include maximum mercury and cadmium limits of 1 ppm and 3 ppm respectively. These characteristics describe the raw material; they should be considered separately from the fineness required of a finished drilling-fluid product.
